--Overview:A leading and growing Northern California nut processor seeks an Assistant Controller. This position is responsible for a variety of general accounting and reporting duties including oversight of accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, and the production of financial reports as well as monthly and annual budgets.Responsibilities include:Assist in oversight of the accounting department operations.Create and monitor departmental financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.

• Delegate data entry tasks to AP, AR Clerk, and Accounting Specialist and help ensure AR and AP are up-to-date and accurate as well as investigate and resolve customer queries.
• Perform account reconciliations; resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issue payments or adjustments.
• Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
• Assist with monthly credit card reconciliations; prepare bank deposits (when required); prepare and process detailed monthly and annual financial statements.
• Assist Controller with annual budgets and forecasts as well as month-end and year-end close process.
• Provide financial analyses for business operations, trends, cost, revenues, and financial commitments/obligations, on an as need basis.
• Aid in development of internal controls and policies to conform and comply with legislation and established best practices.
• Complete annual property tax returns; coordinate provision of information to external service providers (i.e. CPA prepared review and tax return).
• Oversee the accounting of related farming parties/entitiesMaintain fixed assets listing and depreciation schedule.Requirements include:
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field.
• Three or more years accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Familiar with cash and accrual basis of accounting.Compensation:This position offers a competitive salary depending on experience and qualifications.-- In addition:
