Accounting Assistant $18-20/hr. DOE.Part time or full time. COVID flexible position.DigitalPath is looking for a skilled Accounting Assistant to help fill a short-term need on our accounting team. We estimate the end date for this temporary assignment to be 01/31/2022. At that time, if the need remains (we are growing!), we will assess the possibility of extending the assignment or converting this role to a permanent position.We understand the challenges COVID-19 has created for many career-minded individuals, and we have built this position with such challenges in mind. The health, wellness, and safety of our employees and the communities we serve is of the utmost importance to us.The Work You Will be Performing (or Training to Perform):Assist in processing and reconciling A/P and A/RMonth-end duties including assisting in processing and reconciliation of credit cardsProvide support for payrollSubmit 1099 forms annuallyData entryFacilitate various accounting projectsUpdate assorted ledgers and financial reportingPeriodically audit financial records & statementsAudit and create accounting spreadsheets as neededMaintain vendor relationshipsReview contracts and legal documentsTake notes and track action points for meetingsOrganize and maintain filesPrepare documents, presentations, and periodic reportsPlan and facilitate in-person and virtual meetingsDetailed communication between individuals and organizationsMaintain and coordinate across multiple calendarsOrder and dispense office suppliesRun errandsCreate, maintain, and enter information into databasesOther duties as assignedRequirements:Strong computer skillsExcellent knowledge of Microsoft ExcelKnowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, systems, and office equipmentHigh level of accuracy and consistencyMust be able to manage and direct your own work at a fast pace independent of supervisionMaintain confidential informationAble to thrive under pressure with multiple projects and deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to think critically and independently, and to utilize problem-solving skillsPreferred:Proficiency in accounting software, Sage 50 is desiredAn understanding of accounting practices and financial reportsAble to articulate answers to complex accounting/financial questions by researching and interpreting dataQualifications:Prior training or experience in an accounting environment desired but not requiredReliable transportation to/from workValid California Driver's License with no more than 1 point and no DUI'sA strong credit score is not required but may lead to other career options in the departmentThis position reports to the Accounting Manager and will work with the accounting team, executive team, and other team members. This is a temporary full-time, non-exempt position. Compensation starts at $18-20/hr. depending on experience - and we mean it! You could start at $20/hr. with the right experience and qualifications in accounting.Full-Time Benefits Include: Group Health and Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Vision Reimbursement Program, Free Residential Internet Service (if you reside in the coverage area), 401k (4% match after 6 months), PTO (Paid Time Off), Employee Assistance Program, Holiday Pay, and access to an extensive online training library. To help offset COVID concerns, we are temporarily making Group Medical insurance available on the 1st of the month after your start date.Part-Time Benefits Include: 24 hours California Sick Leave available for use after 90 days, and 401k (4% match after 6 months) Our facilities include an on-site cafeteria with company lunches/parties, and a dedicated game room.We do ask for a resume, even if you do not have accounting experience.
