looking to hire a full-time Medical Assistant who will help assist
with medical supports for the intellectually and/or developmentally
disabled adults we serve and trainings for the staff we employ. Do

keep reading! WHAT IS THE JOB? The Medical Assistant provides
assistance, follow through, and standard care procedures under the
instruction of Program Management/Directors to include
administering medical treatments, wound care, vital signs,
medication administration, discharge instructions, and other
related tasks. Medical administrative tasks such as scheduling and
record keeping will be performed as required/directed. This
position will also act as an instructor to teach medical
administration classes as well as CPR/First Aid to our employees .
THIS IS NOT A CLINICAL SETTING. WE ARE A HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED
PROVIDER FOR DISABLED ADULTS. Travel amongst our headquarters and
satellites offices (Roseville/Napa) as well as into those
communities is required for this position. Some of the duties of
the Medical Assistant include: Record and monitor standard care
procedures to include, but not limited to, blood sugar, blood
pressure, weight, and other vital signs. Independently coordinate
and perform care as needed/directed. Utilize and read portable EKG
devices. Timely follow up with doctor offices, medical offices and
alike for testing or imaging results and/or medical reports.
Independently communicating/informing individuals regarding medical
follow up or overdue medical services needed. Accurately complete
all medical administrative paperwork as required. Perform hospital
discharges and follow up with Physician's orders as applicable.
Perform minor medical procedures, as authorized by Physician or
Program Director, within scope of practice. Wound care as
authorized by Physician or Program Director. Assist
Managers/Directors with emergencies, deliveries, transportation,
etc. as needed. Delivering supplies as needed. SCHEDULE AND PAY The
Medical Assistant/Training Coordinator works Monday through Friday
from 8:30a to 5p with an unpaid half hour lunch. The rate of pay
for this position is $25 per hour. LOCATION This position operates
out of our office at 2330 Glendale Lane, CA 95825. This is not an
office-only position! The expectation for the Medical
Assistant/Training Coordinator is to be both on-site at our office
locations as well as in the community assisting and supporting
those with standard medical care procedures. JOB REQUIREMENTS
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES REQUIRED: Medical Assistant Certification
from an accredited licensure program. Current CPR and First Aid
certification. Must be maintained throughout employment with
agency. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Clinical experience providing care
to complex/vulnerable populations (ex: persistent mental illness,
having significant disabilities, elderly and frail, homeless, etc.)
Medical administrative skills required as well as general
administrative tasks (emails, Outlook, basic computer skills, etc).
Direct patient interaction required. Demonstrable knowledge of
standard care procedures. Must possess working knowledge of HIPPA
laws. Protect the confidentiality and security of individual's
information and adhere to HIPPA regulations. Experience in training
others and/or public speaking. Strong organizational, communication
(both written and verbal), and problem-solving skills. Exceptional
ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize work. Proper
time management is required. And last but not least: COMPUTER AND
DRIVING SKILLS! Like any job we require the use of standard
electronics, computer and database systems. We provide training on
the platforms we use, so aptitude with using different systems is
necessary for success as well as maintaining professional
communication both verbal and written/typed. Being a licensed and
insured driver is necessary for this role, which includes having a
clean driving record (no excessive points, and no
DUIs/wet-and-reckless in the past 10 years). American Sign Language
skills as plus as we employ and support many individuals who are
