Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Department Operations Perform routine
maintenance on equipment and building across two retail locations
in Eureka and Arcata Perform repairs as needed in areas such as
electrical, plumbing, roof and siding, minor equipment, lighting,
and cleaning Clean and sanitize all areas of the store, including
floors, walls, restrooms, and break rooms Empty trash receptacles
and recycling bins, and dispose of waste in the appropriate manner.
Restock supplies, such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.
Monitor inventory levels and order cleaning supplies as needed.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing
appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
Organize time efficiently, prioritize, maintain focus, and stay
productive Achieve established goals and expected results for the
department Regularly check service request program and/or email for
important company communications, maintenance requests, and review
all posted memos Maintain and update developing equipment log, make
note of routine maintenance Escalate repairs to appropriate vendor
or to supervisor Attend and actively participate in department
meetings, store-wide and org-wide meetings, and trainings, as
requested Perform all other duties, as assigned Safety Maintain a
safe work environment according to all department procedures –
Safety Manual, federal and state regulations Use personal
protective equipment (PPE) as required for position; understand and
ensure safe use of equipment, safe lifting procedures and proper
ergonomics Must attend safety meetings REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

skills Ability to prioritize and work on a variety of tasks

electrical maintenance and repair experience General plumbing
maintenance and repair experience HVAC maintenance and repair
(commercial experience a plus) Commercial Refrigeration experience
desired Commercial Kitchen equipment repair desired CMMS data entry
or other ticketing system experience Basic construction and
carpentry skills Familiarity with tools Use of scaffolding and
other worker-lift solutions Janitorial experience desired Knowledge
and familiarity of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, &
Outlook) High School Diploma or GED equivalent; or one to three
months’ related experience and/or training. Valid drivers license
Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an

to perform the essential functions. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS: Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended
periods of time Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders
Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and
squat Bend and lift loads, up to 50 pounds frequently, not to
exceed 75 pounds Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing,
pulling, and fine manipulation Work Environment Fast paced retail
floor environment. At times may work with or near moving mechanical
parts (i.e. baler, dock equipment), in high precarious places (i.e.
ladder work) and in cold/hot climate conditions. Ability to work in
moderate and loud noise environments including, but not limited to
computers, paging, telephones, human voices, sound system and
machinery. Occasional job-related travel within Eureka and Arcata.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with
mechanical parts, wood, concrete, paints, and plastics. Employee
will be exposed to wet and cold conditions while in and out of the
refrigerator/freezer, or while cleaning. Employee will spend a
majority of working time cleaning workspaces and equipment; the
rest is spent on assigned work tasks such as repairs, hauling
materials and assisting others. Employee will be working standing
up most of the time. The noise level in the work environment is
usually moderate. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up
to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust
focus. Specific Requirements: Job involves driving manual shift
diesel vehicles with trailer and operating a forklift. Customary
Work Schedule This position customarily works a varied schedule
which may include early, late, and/or weekend shifts with
occasional overtime and the appropriate meal and rest breaks
provided. The position requires reliable dependable performance and
punctuality, anything less places a hardship on other employees and
store operations, therefore, regular and prompt attendance is
essential to this position. Employees are expected to report for
work on time, appropriately uniformed and to accurately report all
time worked using the timeclock and break sheet procedures.
