Position description
The University of California, Davis Department of Surgery
Academic Pediatric Surgeon
The Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis
Health located in Sacramento, California, seek to hire a full time
Academic Pediatric Surgeon, with a preference for specialization in
fetal surgery, pediatric colorectal, and/or pediatric oncology, in
the Division of Pediatric Surgery at the Assistant Professor level,
Associate Professor, or Professor level in the Health Science
Clinical Professor, Clinical X or In-Residence series, dependent
upon experience and qualification. This is a 100% appointment at UC
Davis Health, a level I Trauma Center with comprehensive adult and
pediatric emergency departments.
The selected candidate is expected to participate in teaching,
clinical care, both inpatient and outpatient, in addition to
research related to pediatric and fetal surgery. The candidate will
have responsibilities on the surgery service which include general
pediatric, thoracic, trauma and fetal surgical specialties at the
University of California Davis Health, Children's Hospital, and
Shriner's Hospital for Children - Northern California.

Salary and level of appointment will be based upon experience and
qualifications.
Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
* Possess a Medical Degree
* Be eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery in both
General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery
* The candidate must have the ability to work cooperatively and
collegially and promote a diverse and inclusive environment
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
Candidates must be able to obtain a California Medical License
before the start date.
Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required,
qualifications for the position)
Demonstrated clinical teaching and health services research skills,
and experience in minimally invasive pediatric surgery, trauma,
pediatric surgical oncology, fetal therapy, and fetal surgery.
