qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Sacramento, California, 95817! Pay
Information $2,576 per week About The Position Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia
Care Unit (PACU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12
hours Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience required, with 2
years of recent critical care or inpatient PACU experience.
License: Active nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS,
BLS, PALS required. Must-Have: - Inpatient experience - Pain
management skills - Phase I PACU and Phase II recovery experience -
Familiarity with various surgical specialties such as bariatrics,
orthopedic, and general surgery Description: The Registered Nurse
will provide post-operative and recovery care for multiple surgical
specialties in a fast-paced environment. The role involves managing
patients recovering from surgeries, including those in OR, IR, and
procedure rooms. Duties include the assessment and management of
pain, monitoring vital signs, and administering medications as
needed. Expected competencies include dysrhythmia recognition,
management of arterial lines, and awareness of
hyperglycemia/hypoglycemia protocols. The nurse will be responsible
for organizing and documenting care, including medication
reconciliation and discharge instructions. Skilled care in
inserting IVs, managing PCA pumps, and understanding RASS protocols
is also required. Candidates must be prepared for a dynamic work
environment with potential variable shift start times based on
operational needs. Experience with pre and post-operative
procedures, as well as familiarization with various surgical
specialties, is essential. The position requires effective
communication skills for interpreting lab values and providing
patient education. Compliance with infection control protocols and
adherence to safety procedures is critical in this role.
