Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Redding,

onsite, day one, passed Description: Telemetry, Labor and Delivery,
Emergency and Critical Care RNs will take a proctored Dysrhythmia
Test onsite, day one. The unit has a total of 19 postpartum beds,
12 Labor and Delivery rooms, 2 operating rooms, and 1 PACU.
Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced
AWHONN. Staff-to-patient ratios will follow California guidelines
at 1:4 for postpartum and 1:1 for labor and delivery. The
electronic medical record system used is Cerner with Fetal Link for
surveillance. The charge nurse will be a clinical supervisor 6 out
of 7 days, with a nurse manager available Monday through Friday.
There are no nurse aides; OB techs are responsible for scrubbing
and covering the desk. The weekend requirement includes 3 weekend
shifts in a 4-week schedule, with Friday/Saturday nights or
Saturday/Sunday days. Holidays will be rotated with permanent
staff. Scrub colors are provided by the hospital. There is no
telemetry; fetal heart monitoring is done using Phillips systems.
Vents are not handled by staff as hospitalists or intensivists are
available in-house. The hospital employs laborists, who are OB
doctors present 24/7. There is no IV team; however, respiratory
therapy and pharmacy services are available around the clock.
Shifts start at 6:45 and end at 7:15 for both days and nights.
Floating to pediatrics will involve the same patients that are
taken on postpartum, while floating to NICU will only involve
feeders and growers, if previous experience exists. The
floor-specific orientation will be 3 shifts if the RN can
circulate; otherwise, it will be 2 shifts. Circulating is not
required, as there are staff members available to perform this
task. Common diagnoses include low and high-risk deliveries, with a
Level III NICU available for transfers in cases of known congenital
defects requiring immediate surgery. Peak volumes are typically
observed in July and October. The hospital can cancel up to 4
shifts for a 13-week assignment and 3 shifts for assignments that
are shorter than 13 weeks. The charting system utilized is Cerner.
