Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Oncology – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse
- MedSurg/Oncology Location: Redding, CA Start Date: 03-03-2026 End
Date: 06-02-2026 Contract Type: Travel Contract Shift Type:
Rotating nights, 12-hour shifts, approximately 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM;
Every Other Week (EOW) schedule; includes 4 weekend shifts per
4-week cycle; Night shift (first to float to telemetry/med-surg as
needed) Hours per Week: 36 Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour About

Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care to MedSurg and Oncology
patients with compassion and clinical precision Monitor cardiac
telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias, maintaining vigilance and
following unit protocol Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
(hospitalists, RT, pharmacy) to coordinate timely care Document
patient assessments, interventions, and changes in condition using
Cerner accurately and promptly Assist with patient admissions,
discharges, and transfers while maintaining patient safety and
comfort Support unit staffing by floating to telemetry or other
med-surg floors as needed Participate in unit initiatives,
handoffs, and shift coordination to maintain continuity of care
Qualifications Current, active RN license in the state of
California (or eligible to obtain one prior to start) Minimum 2
years of recent MedSurg/Oncology nursing experience (2-3 years
preferred) BLS certification required; ability to pass dysrhythmia
exam for telemetry responsibilities Travel nursing experience
preferred — you should be a team player who adapts quickly COVID-19
vaccination required (per facility policy) Comfortable caring for
oncology patients (will not administer chemotherapy at this
assignment) Education Active RN license required BSN preferred but
not required Knowledge & Skills Strong telemetry monitoring skills
and dysrhythmia recognition Experience with Cerner electronic
medical records and accurate charting Solid med-surg and oncology
patient assessment and intervention skills Excellent teamwork,
communication, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines
Ability to work independently on night shift while escalating
appropriately Familiarity with hospital systems including RT and
