Job Description World Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Arcata, California. Job Title: Pre-Op / PACU Registered Nurse Job Type: Contract Position Urgency: Quick Start Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Pre-Operative / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse for a contract assignment. This role provides care to surgical patients in both the pre-operative and post-anesthesia recovery phases. This position guarantees 40 hours per week. The schedule is Monday through Friday, day shifts, with shared call responsibilities including nights and weekends. Key Responsibilities - Conduct pre-operative patient assessments and preparation - Provide immediate post-anesthesia recovery care - Monitor patients for complications and respond appropriately - Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered - Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical teams - Document patient care accurately in CPSI/Evident EMR - Participate in shared on-call rotation Requirements - Current and active California Registered Nurse license - Minimum of 2 years of Pre-Op and/or PACU experience - Experience in perioperative nursing preferred - TB clearance completed within 12 months prior to start date Certifications Required - BLS (Basic Life Support) - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Additional Information - No holiday coverage required - Housing resources may be explored independently (e.g., Furnished Finder, Travel Nurse Housing, local temporary/sublet listings) - Assignment location is within a 30-mile radius of Arcata, CA Only applicants who meet the minimum qualifications and possess the required certifications are eligible to apply./n About World Nurses World Nurses specializes in the staffing of non-skilled and skilled healthcare personnel.
