Doctor of Medicine | Gastroenterology Location: Eureka, CA Employer: VieMed Healthcare Staffing Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position Join Our Team as an Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Locum Provider Exciting Opportunity for Qualified Gastroenterologists to Provide Exceptional Care in a Dynamic Clinical Environment. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology professional to fill our locum position starting May 1, 2026. In this role, you will deliver high-quality outpatient and inpatient Gastroenterology services, including procedures such as ERCP and fluoroscopy. The schedule includes weekday clinic hours from 7:30 AM or 7:40 AM to 3:30 PM or 4:40 PM, with night call coverage from 5:00 PM to 7:30/7:40 AM, depending on the site. Weekend call coverage is for 24 hours. Shifts will be determined prior to confirmation, with specific availability required. Office hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. Candidates must hold an active California medical license and DEA registration. Board certification or eligibility within five years of residency in Gastroenterology is required. Candidates must possess current certifications for ERCP and fluoroscopy; temporary fluoroscopy licenses are acceptable pending permanent licensure within one year. Scheduling includes guaranteed eight hours per day, with overtime governed by prior approval, and shifts are billed accordingly. Key Skills & Qualifications: Active CA medical license and DEA registration Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology within 5 years of residency Proven proficiency in ERCP and fluoroscopy procedures Minimum of 2 years hospital-based clinical activity in the specialty Clear understanding of clinical documentation and case logging requirements Ability to coordinate complex schedules and handle call coverage Nice to Have Skills: Experience working in multi-site outpatient settings Familiarity with hospital privileging processes Prior locum or temporary staffing experience Strong communication and teamwork skills Preferred Education & Experience: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital clinical experience in Gastroenterology Case logs demonstrating procedure proficiency Other Requirements: Availability to start on or before May 1, 2026 Willingness to undergo privileging process (typically 48-72 hours for approval) Coverage of shifts beginning in May 2026, with preference for providers available immediately This is an excellent opportunity to advance your career and contribute to high-quality patient care.
