Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $13,120 - $14,060 Position: Locum Tenens Oncology Physician (Hematology?Oncology) Setting: Hospital?based Outpatient Chemotherapy & Infusion Center Location: Redding, CA 96001 (Shasta County) Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Physician (Contract) Duration: 13 weeks Shift / Schedule: 12?hour days; Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm Hours per Week: 36 Patient Volume: Manage ~15–20 outpatient infusions/visits per day Required Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology / Hematology (Hematology?Oncology) Active California medical license (MD/DO) — must be current Completed fellowship in Oncology or Hematology Valid DEA registration ACLS required (PALS if treating pediatric patients or requesting moderate sedation privileges) Self?Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of application Minimum 1 year clinical experience in Oncology/Hematology; outpatient chemotherapy/infusion experience preferred Experience using EMR systems (iKnowmed for clinic and Cerner for infusion preferred) Ability to function as a solo provider and supervise midlevel providers/support staff Core Responsibilities Provide outpatient chemotherapy and infusion services, including administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, transfusions, hormone therapy, and therapeutic phlebotomies Oversee diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, and ongoing treatment plans for hematology/oncology patients Serve as MD oversight for both Oncology/Hematology clinic and Infusion Services; perform hospital consults and call coverage as needed Coordinate with ER physicians and hospitalists for admissions and transitions of care Supervise and collaborate closely with nurse practitioners/physician assistants, RNs, infusion nurses, and clinic staff Document thoroughly in EMR systems (iKnowmed for clinic workflows; Cerner for infusion documentation) Ensure compliance with safety protocols for chemotherapy handling, patient monitoring, and infusion center operations Why This Locum Tenens Oncology Job Competitive locum tenens pay for oncology physicians Hospital?supported outpatient infusion center with experienced clinical staff Opportunity to practice independent outpatient hematology?oncology care in a community setting Work/life balance with Monday–Friday daytime schedule in scenic Northern California How to Apply: Apply now — submit your CV, active California medical license, DEA information, and NPDB self?query.
