Locum Physician Assistant (PA) Surgery Cardiovascular Redding, CA
Cardiovascular surgical PA/NP coverage is needed starting 06/12/2026 in Redding, CA ideal for clinicians who want a clear onsite schedule (10-hour shifts with night call). Pay & Benefits

• Pay package includes:

What You ll Do

• Assist with cardiovascular procedures, including heart surgeries and other thoracic cases
• Participate in daily rounds and support postoperative documentation (PA notes/post-op patient notes)
• Support postoperative patient care and coordinate follow-up activities as directed by the care team
• Assist with clinic coverage in the afternoons on Tuesday and Thursday (up to 6 patients)
• Provide occasional same-day follow-up when issues arise that cannot wait for the next clinic day
• Maintain readiness for onsite shifts followed by night call (call back is described as minimal)

What You Need
Required

• Active/current PA licensure (requirements not fully specified in order must be able to credential)
• Recent and substantial cardiovascular surgical assist experience
• Substantial EVH (endovascular vein harvesting) experience required please specify EVH experience on presentation
• Ability to support onsite coverage and night call schedule requirements

Preferred

• Experience specifically using EVH systems (Maquet Hemopro 2) is referenced please include if applicable
• Familiarity with Cerner and SurgiNet support (referenced) include if applicable

About the Assignment
You ll join a care team at a leading Level II Trauma Center in Redding, CA, supporting approximately heart surgeries per month plus other thoracic cases. The workflow includes morning rounds with PA documentation and follow-up clinic coverage on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the hospital.
