Job Description:
US Foods, a premier foodservice distributor in America, is
seeking a dedicated CDL A Truck Driver to join our dynamic
Transportation & Logistics team. As a vital link in our supply
chain, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely, safe,
and accurate delivery of food products to our vast network of
customers. This position requires adherence to strict safety and
regulatory standards to maintain our commitment to high service
levels and customer satisfaction. Safely operate a
tractor-trailer/truck to transport goods to various locations
within set delivery time frames. Inspect vehicles for mechanical
and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance as needed.
Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Comply with truck driving
rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking,
and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, while ensuring
the safe loading and unloading of cargo. Collect and verify
delivery instructions from dispatch, ensuring all necessary
paperwork is complete and accurate. Report defects, accidents, or
violations immediately and provide detailed reporting as required.
Proven work experience as a truck driver with a clean driving
record. Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software
(GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.). Ability to drive long hours and travel
regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules
and regulations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected
situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.). Medical Insurance
Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Must possess a valid Class A
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). DOT medical card. Clean driving
record. Hazardous Material Endorsement (HazMat) is preferred but
not required.
