This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Suwannee Correctional Institution in Live Oak, FL reporting to Central Office.

Salary Rate: $80,000.18 Annually


  • Review of indicators for inpatient and Residential Continuum of Care (RCC) mental health services and out-of-cell structured therapeutic services at designated institutions with mental health inpatients/RCC units
  • Review and provide assistance to the Central Office Mental Health Ombudsman and wardens (or their designee) in addressing formal grievances from inmates residing in inpatients/RCC mental health units;
  • Proactively identify issues and concerns pertinent to access to necessary mental health treatment in the inpatient/RCC units;
  • Conducts periodic interviews of inmates residing in the inpatient/RCC units;
  • Provide status reports to the COMHO to assist in analysis and amelioration of identified concerns;


  • Knowledge and experience with a correctional mental health delivery system;
  • Knowledge and experience wotking with a multidisciplinary treatment and services team in an inpatient level of care setting;
  • Knowledge and experience with the grievance process in a correctional agency;
  • Knowledge of the standards of care for persons with mental impairments;
  • Knowledge of the theories and principles of psychology;
  • Knowledge of psychological testing principles and practices;
  • Knowledge of the methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data;
  • Knowledge of the components of a multidisciplinary mental health system, including psychology, psychiatry, mental health nursing, professional;
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Ability to analyze and interpret psychological data;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research.


  • Must possess a Doctorate in Psychology.
  • Must possess at least one year experience in an inpatient treatment unit/hospital
  • Experience working with Interdisciplinary teams
