Part of the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB), the Center for Social Innovation (CSI) prepares students to apply their management and leadership skills to solve the world's toughest problems through courses, extra-curricular programs, and fellowships that promote understanding of deeply entrenched social issues, teach the skills needed to address them, inspire a life of action, and build community among impact-focused peers.

The Center seeks a Social Entrepreneurship Program Lead. The Program Lead will deliver a highly impactful social entrepreneurship program that educates MBA and MSx students, connects them with helpful people and resources at Stanford and beyond, and provides the financial support necessary to accelerate the entrepreneurial process to maximize their positive impact in the world. The Program Lead implements existing programs and identifies opportunities for greater impact, provides direct advising support to students, and develops an advising platform composed of experienced social entrepreneurship coaches and visiting social entrepreneurs to bring relevant and diverse perspectives to bear on students' entrepreneurial ventures. The Program Lead works under the general direction of faculty, reports to the Center Director, and works collaboratively with peer colleagues at CSI, the GSB's Center for Entrepreneurial Studies, the Career Management Center, and the MBA Program, in order to create a thoughtful, cohesive and powerful student learning experience on the Stanford GSB campus. This position will work a hybrid schedule with an expected presence on campus of approximately 3 days a week.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to nurture rising leaders working on impactful solutions to the biggest social and environmental challenges society faces today. This role is an opportunity to hone your listening, advising, coaching, and connecting skills, to apply and build your knowledge on a wide range of social and environmental issues, and to accelerate your own impact in the world.

Your primary responsibilities include:

* Develop a vision for the SE Program based on own program experience, input from colleagues, feedback from program participants, and work with the Center director to articulate the program strategy and resource needs. Partner with peer colleagues to develop, implement, and administer the vision, strategy, and goals of the various components of the CSI Social Entrepreneurship Program.
* Orient students to Stanford's resources, expertise, and networks to advance their impact ventures and provide coaching to students and alumni as needed. For example, this may include: surfacing values, motivations, and commitment to impact; creating structure for venture development, supporting identification of next steps, and providing accountability partnership ; providing guidance on creating a robust theory of change, exploring business models, designing an evaluation framework; guiding students to develop a supportive network and making introductions when appropriate; helping students navigate early team dynamics, providing guidance on fundraising sources and strategies, especially in preparation for CSI funding opportunities.
* Create and develop a coaching and advising platform to assure students have appropriate coaching for their project ideas, by recruiting, managing, overseeing, and training a pool of experienced social entrepreneurship coaches and developing relationships with high profile partners who can support student ventures, as advisors or funders.
* Support the Startup Garage course teaching team to provide a supportive class environment for social entrepreneurs and certify students' acquisition of knowledge. More generally, support the development of the social entrepreneurship curriculum as needed, contribute to and facilitate campus-based workshops, peer groups, and events.
* Oversee Social Entrepreneurship program metrics and data collection.
* Offer limited fundraising/development support to CSI director by providing ideas and opinions on proposals and support for donor reporting when required.
* Work collaboratively with the rest of the CSI team to determine the best approach to completing projects, bringing sound independent judgment for decision-making as well as careful consideration of school policies.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

* Advanced degree and five years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
* Experience with impact-first entrepreneurial processes, including an understanding of human-centered design, theories of change and impact evaluation, development of founding teams, and fundraising strategy.
* Enthusiasm for the potential of the GSB's aspiring impact leaders and the incredible power of the Stanford community to accelerate their work.
* Energy to facilitate a high potential student community and create an outstanding campus-based co-curricular learning experience.
* The humility necessary to empower others and find meaning in nurturing and supporting emerging leaders.
* The interpersonal and networking skills needed to maintain collaborative relationships with a large number of people and to manage and motivate volunteers.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively educate, inform, and inspire internal and external audiences.
* Demonstrated success in management of projects, including project planning, scheduling, tracking, and budgeting.
* Comfort with technology and data management. Strong analytical skills to review and assess complex data; Experience building and maintaining spreadsheets.

In addition, preferred requirements include:

* Experience of the social entrepreneurship process as a founder, early staff member, incubator or accelerator program manager, or impact funder.
* General awareness of the social innovation / social entrepreneurship landscape, including social enterprises, impact investors, grant makers, nonprofit and governmental organizations.
* A broad awareness of domestic and global social and environmental issues and an ability to quickly get up to speed on any specific issue.
* Fluency with social innovation frameworks.
* An understanding of the nonprofit and for-profit funding landscape for social entrepreneurs.
* An interest in policy as it affects opportunities for impact.
* Comfort with coaching practices and the ability to relate to the population of business school students.
* Experience working in higher education is also desirable.
