Overview:
Assists the RHC Practice Manager in coordinating operations of the Patient Access Representative (PAR). Is able to perform all of the functions of the PAR. Position includes claim scrubbing, workflow evaluation and continuous quality improvement. This position schedules appointments, observes and trains staff. - The Patient Access Lead assumes an active role in the revenue cycle by ensuring collection of patient co-payments and facilitates patient financial counseling. - Acts as a liaison between employees, management, and the public. Gathers pertinent information from insurance carriers, financial counselors, and other ancillary staff to ensure patients have been cleared for specialty-service office visits. Resolves pre-certification, registration and case-related concerns prior to a patient's appointment. Assists the physicians, APPs, and staff as needed.

Qualifications:
Preferred Education: Current CPR certification is preferred.Completion of two years of college or equivalent experience.Experience: - -Two years experience in a medical/hospital setting is required. Previous leadership experience is preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Ability to work effectively under stress and communicate effectively in oral and written English. - Ability to type 35 wpm. - Knowledge of alphabetical/numerical filing systems and computer experience required. - Knowledge of insurance plans, referral procedures, and Worker's Compensation program. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes.Ability to utilize Word and Excel. - Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding, insurance prior authorizations, and patient assistance programs. - Ability to work well with the public and hospital departments and handle stressful situations in a calm manner. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
