TITLE: Sorter/Donation Processor
DEPARTMENT: Production
REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor/Director of Production FLSA
Status: Non-exempt (hourly)
General StatementThe Salvation Army is a branch of the Christian
Church and the ultimate goal of all programs is a spiritual
regeneration of all people.
A. BASIC PURPOSEThe Purpose of the Sorter/Donation Processor is to
prepare donations for retail sale or salvage according to Salvation
Army policy and production procedures.
B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follow procedure as it pertains to sorting, cleaning, preparing,
shipping and receiving donated items for sale 2. Keep donation area
clean and without debris3. Sorting donations of clothing,
furniture, electrical and miscellaneous household items4. Loading
donations for truck delivery5. Adhere to all safety policies as it
pertains to loading and unloading of trucks6. Follow all accident
and injury reporting procedures7. Maintain a clean and organized
receiving and processing area8. Determine which items are saleable,
repairable or salvageable9. Other duties as assigned10. Adhere to
proper dress code, with uniform as designated by direct
Supervisor
C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Requirements
1. High School diploma or General Education degree (GED): or one or
two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent
combination of education and experience.2. Must complete and follow
all safety training requirements provided by immediate
Supervisor.

To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to
perform the essential duties with or without accommodation.

required to lift, bend and stoop. Frequently the employee must
