Black, Indigenous, People of Color, veterans, and those with diverse abilities are encouraged to apply.Job/Department Summary:Incumbent, under the direction of the Network Manager, is responsible for planning, design, documentation, installation, ongoing analysis, and control of the campus voice and data network infrastructure. Work includes researching best of breed technologies for expansion of the networks to meet academic and administrative program needs and the needs of campus users. Incumbent is responsible for coordination and documentation of assigned projects within Network Operations.The incumbent is expected to act part of the team supporting wireless networks, network clients, and supporting systems. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible as a tier-3 specialist in support of network clients, including wired, wireless, and VPN systems. The incumbent will act as a liaison between the campus and manufacturers, vendors, and consultants regarding network technologies and services.Mandatory Vaccinations:The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.Preferences:Preference may be given to applicants with the following as they may be considered specialized skills: Experience working with wireless networks and associated support infrastructure is preferred, particularly with Aruba Networks systems. Experience with network client support is preferred. Experience with network security systems is also preferred. Experience with the installation and testing of network cabling systems Bilingual Required Education and Experience:The qualifications listed above would normally be obtained by a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems educational technology, communications or job-related field or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study.ANDTwo years of full-time job-related experience.ORAn equivalent combination of job-related experience and education providing the requisite skills and knowledge to independently apply technical judgment to standard application systems.Time Base: Full-timePay Plan: 12/12Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 7:00-5:30.
